Why shooting film is perfect for slow travel!
I admit, shooting film is quite expensive these days. From buying the film itself to developing costs. It's not for everyone.
But on a recent trip to Liège, Belgium I tried to just shoot one roll of Kodak Gold 200 with my trusty Nikon FM2.
I know how it sounds, but it made me slow everything down a bit. Not rushing around the city taking hundreds of pictures with my digital cameras.
You need to focus on your subjects and sometimes take a little longer to get the shot.
Le Péristyle - Jardin du Botanique Liège
And the best part was meeting the woman in the photo below. I don't remember her name, but she is originally from Venice and now works at the Botanical Garden in Liège.
She told us about the gardens and the plants and I could not resist asking her if I could take her portrait.
And I think these encounters makes all the difference when travelling, do you agree?
