Spring in Monschau

View from Rotes Haus down the river Rur

Have you ever heard of that little midieval town located near the German-Belgian border? You definitely should.

Its charming historic buildings invite you on a short trip or a stopover after a hike in the Eifel national park. I went there for 2 hours with my Nikon Z6II and the 28mm lens in my hands and captured some photographs I really like.

Pro-Tip:
I've heard that it can get very crowded at weekends,
so it's better to go on a weekday if possible.

Enough said, let’s take a look at some photos.

The famous “Rotes Haus”

The huge patrician house was built around 1752 and 1768 by the cloth manufacturer Johann Heinrich Scheibler right next to the river Rur. It has his name because of the color of its facade.

Monschau has a variety of cafés and bakeries, so grab yourself a coffee and one of those delicious Printen and explore this beautiful town.

Thank you for reading and see you next time. 🥨
