One Hour in Munich

Justizpalast, Elisenstraße

On a recent trip of mine I had a one-hour layover in Munich around Hauptbahnhof before my train departed. The weather was so nice, I decided to explore the nearby area around with my trusty Nikon Z6II with a 28mm lens.

Propyläen, Königsplatz

I started at the famous Königsplatz with its museums and Greek inspired buildings like the Propyläen and the Glyptothek. It was really nice to see the city so quiet at this time of day.

After a short walk around I headed to the Old Botanical Garden. It’s about a 5 minute walk away from Königsplatz.

I think the most famous building in Munich is without a doubt the Frauenkirche with its twin towers. But I’ve never seen the view from the gate of the Old Botanical Garden, so this sure was a highlight.

Right around the corner is the Justizpalast which was built between 1891-1897 in a neo-baroque architectural design.

So next time you have some spare time at Munich Central Station and want to do some sightseeing, you can easily get a few impressions of Munich. And hopefully the weather will be as nice as mine.

As I would say in my Bavarian language, Servus und Habe d’Ehre. 🥨
